Pyrolysis-catalytic steam reforming of waste plastics for enhanced hydrogen/syngas yield using sacrificial tire pyrolysis char catalyst

چکیده

Pyrolysis-catalytic steam reforming of waste plastics to produce hydrogen-rich syngas has been investigated using tire char as a sacrificial catalyst in two-stage pyrolysis-catalytic reactor system. The simultaneous the pyrolysis volatiles and ‘sacrificial’ gasification increased overall yield hydrogen gas products. Manipulating temperature, input, catalyst:plastic ratio influenced yield. presence metals such Zn, Fe, Ca Mg char, play catalytic role reactions. production achieved when temperature was 1000 °C weight hourly space velocity 8 g h−1 g−1 135 mmol H2 g-1plastic 92 CO g-1plastic. However, increasing amount (4:1 ratio) enabled yields 211 total 360 be achieved.

Fe−Ni−MCM-41 Catalysts for Hydrogen-Rich Syngas Production from Waste Plastics by Pyrolysis−Catalytic Steam Reforming

A two-stage pyrolysis−catalytic steam reforming process was used with mesoporous MCM-41 supported iron and nickel bimetallic catalysts for hydrogen-rich syngas production from a simulated mixture of waste plastics. Different Fe/Ni weight ratios (00:20, 05:15, 10:10, 05:15, and 20:00) have been investigated to determine the influence on hydrogen production. The results showed that the presence o...

Processing real-world waste plastics by pyrolysis-reforming for hydrogen and high-value carbon nanotubes.

Producing both hydrogen and high-value carbon nanotubes (CNTs) derived from waste plastics is reported here using a pyrolysis-reforming technology comprising a two-stage reaction system, in the presence of steam and a Ni-Mn-Al catalyst. The waste plastics consisted of plastics from a motor oil container (MOC), commercial waste high density polyethylene (HDPE) and regranulated HDPE waste contain...

Catalytic Pyrolysis of Tar Model Compound with Various Bio-Char Catalysts to Recycle Char from Biomass Pyrolysis

Tar and char can be regarded as unwanted byproducts during the gasification process. In this study, three types of catalyst, i.e., biomass char (bio-char), nickel supported on biomass (Ni+bio-char), and nickel supported on bio-char (bio-char+Ni), were studied to compare the catalytic effects of different preparation methods on tar model compound removal. The structural characteristics of the th...
